    Key Takeaways

    • Bitcoin ETFs drew $1.92B from Aug. 17-21, led by Blackrock’s $1.33B IBIT haul.
    • Ether added $697M as XRP, Solana, and HYPE gains showed institutional demand broadening.
    • Bitcoin ETF AUM rose 25% to $96.07B, with price gains driving most of the weekly increase.

The week opened with a rebound and ended with a rush.

Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted fresh capital in every session, building from a $297.56 million Monday inflow to a three-day burst that carried the category to its strongest weekly result in months. Ether followed the same path, while XRP and solana funds quietly built momentum all week.

Bitcoin Leads a Five-Day Buying Run

Bitcoin ETFs recorded $1.92 billion in net inflows for the week.

Monday brought $297.56 million, followed by $189.30 million on Tuesday. Demand accelerated on Wednesday as bitcoin moved above $70,000, sending $517.19 million into the funds. Thursday delivered the biggest session at $606.29 million, while Friday added another $307.45 million.

Blackrock’s IBIT dominated the weekly ledger with $1.33 billion in inflows. Fidelity’s FBTC added $293.1 million, while ARK 21Shares’ ARKB brought in $126.9 million.

Bitwise’s BITB gained $87.3 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT added $28.9 million, Grayscale’s GBTC attracted $21.2 million, and the Bitcoin Mini Trust brought in $36.2 million. Vaneck’s HODL was the main exception, losing $16.1 million.

Bitcoin ETF trading volume reached $22.1 billion for the week, more than triple the prior week’s $6.9 billion. Assets under management rose to $96.07 billion, up 25%. Nearly $1 billion flowed into bitcoin ETFs over the final three sessions alone, the strongest three-day run since Bitcoin last traded above $80,000.

Ether and Altcoins Join the Gains

Ether ETFs also finished every session in positive territory, collecting $697 million for the week.

Inflows rose from $30.85 million on Monday to $71.47 million on Tuesday, then accelerated to $189.15 million on Wednesday and $220.77 million on Thursday. Friday closed with another $184.93 million.

Combined bitcoin and ether ETF inflows reached $2.62 billion, the largest weekly total since October 2025.

XRP ETFs attracted $39.78 million, helped by strong Thursday and Friday inflows of $13.24 million and $18.38 million.

Solana funds added $28.34 million, with most of the demand arriving late in the week. HYPE ETFs finished with $3.89 million in net inflows. A $1.97 million Wednesday outflow was more than offset by Thursday’s $5.86 million addition.

Sosovalue highlighted the difference in flow intensity between the two largest crypto assets. Bitcoin’s $1.92 billion weekly inflow represented about 2.0% of its $96.07 billion in assets, while Ether’s $697 million inflow equaled roughly 4.9% of its $14.29 billion asset base.

“ETH continued to absorb significantly more capital relative to its existing ETF size,” Sosovalue noted. That stronger proportional demand helped amplify Ether’s move from around $1,900 to as high as $2,546, with ETF buying, corporate treasury exposure and staking-related supply constraints all contributing to tighter supply-demand dynamics.

By Friday’s close, the market had delivered one of its broadest institutional buying weeks of the year. Bitcoin remained the clear center of gravity, while ether and the larger altcoin funds shared in the surge.
